THE POWER OF GOODBYE: The countdown to Thursday’s closing of Yves Saint Laurent’s couture atelier is getting blow-by-blow coverage in France. The daily Le Figaro kicked off the frenzy during the weekend with a final visit to 5 Avenue Marceau, complete with a photo of Saint Laurent’s white fitting smock "waiting in vain" on a hanger, as the caption read. The French wire agency AFP joined the fray Monday with a slew of dispatches, detailing the severance package for the 158 workers and listing key dates of the couturier’s 44-year fashion career, which ended with a retrospective fashion show last January.

Guests expected to stop by include Lauren Hutton, Iman, Lisa Marie, Angie Harmon, James King, Rashida Jones, Sally and Rufus Albemarle, Marjorie Gubelmann, Kalliope Karella, Ghislaine Maxwell, Rena Sindi, Arriana von Hohenlohe Boardman, Amy Sacco and Lulu de Kwiatowski.
