JODIE KIDD TO POLO: Following in the footsteps of her father and brother, who are both professional polo players, British model Jodie Kidd will represent England in the Polo Women’s World Championships in July. Although she has only been playing for five years, the English team clearly pegged her as a winner. Kidd will play on a four-woman team at the tournament in Ascot, and no doubt be cheered on by her boyfriend, Tarquin Southwell, a fellow polo player whom she met while mucking out at her brother’s stables.

PRIME OF ADRIEN BRODY: Zegna hit the jackpot this week when Adrien Brody won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in “The Pianist.” Brody is featured in the men’s wear company’s spring ad campaign, along with other actors, and has signed a six-month contract to appear exclusively in Zegna’s fall campaign, shot by Steven Klein. But Zegna isn’t capitalizing on Brody’s winning the gold statue: David Lipman, chairman of Lipman, Zegna’s ad agency, said the fall ads were shot in New York several weeks ago. In addition to appearing in the ads, Brody will make appearances on Zegna’s behalf and be outfitted in Zegna for other major events. He wore Zegna to the Oscars.
“The key thing is we believe Zegna is a very intellectual brand…with a lot of meaning. Adrien is such a serious actor and his role in ‘The Pianist’ was so amazing. It moved all of us,” said Lipman.
