KIDMAN AND AMENABAR TOGETHER AGAIN: El Corte Inglés can’t seem to get enough of Hollywood. First Sharon Stone, then Gwyneth Paltrow, and now Nicole Kidman. The Spanish department store’s newest star will promote the fall women’s line. Kidman is known in Spain for her spooky thriller "The Others," which was shot in the northern part of the country and directed by Alejandro Amenábar. Amenábar directed the Corte Inglés campaign, which was filmed in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, specifically the Greystone mansion built in 1927 by Edward Doheny. "The house has the same dreamy mood as ‘The Others,’" said a spokeswoman for the retail chain in Madrid, "and no doubt about it, there is a special chemistry between Amenábar and Kidman." The TV campaign breaks Sept. 13. The fall promotion will also include in-store visuals of the Aussie actress blanketing major El Corte Inglés outlets throughout Spain and in Portugal, where a Lisbon unit opened last year.

TODD’S A FAN, TOO: Chicago fashionistas weren’t the only ones swooning over Wayne Newton, who hosted Marshall Field’s recent Glamorama fashion event. Designer Todd Oldham’s a fan as well. Oldham named Newton his favorite part of the Las Vegas-themed extravaganza, which attracted more than 2,500 people. "We’ve all grown up with Wayne," Oldham said. "He’s so nice — he autographed my backpack."
