MADONNA’S SUPPORTING ACT: Britain’s Labour party has a new fan. Sources in London say that Madonna and Guy Ritchie have written to Prime Minister Tony Blair confirming their support and to point out they are his friends. Although it couldn’t have come at a better time for the party, it certainly won’t impress the mother-in-law. Shireen Ritchie is head of the Kensington & Chelsea Tories.
B&B: Luxury tsar Bernard Arnault and Bob Wilson, the American stage director, are extremely buddy-buddy these days. The LVMH chairman presided over a ceremony this week in Paris honoring Wilson with France’s prestigious Order of Arts and Letters. Just last month, Wilson was with Arnault to unveil his holiday window displays for Louis Vuitton. Wilson also designed a handbag line for Vuitton.
