The nuptials of Christy Turlington and Ed Burns in San Francisco over the weekend may have been low-key and private but, not surprisingly given Turlington’s background, it was a high-fashion affair: John Galliano designed the gown especially for her. The white satin, full-skirted gown — described as very fairy tale — boasted a long train and a veil fully embroidered with silver thread by Lesage.

TONGUE-TIED: Liv Tyler, the new face of Very Irresistible Givenchy, is quickly developing a taste for French high fashion. In Paris Wednesday for the fragrance launch, Tyler arrived to find a Givenchy pants-and-top ensemble waiting for her. Although she’d sent her measurements to the house just once, Tyler said the outfit fit like a glove. “I said ‘Wow, this is couture!’” she mused. But Tyler revealed the French language is not quite such a perfect fit. She recently filmed a television commercial for the scent and confessed: “It took me a long time to say ‘Irresistible.’” Surely it took no longer than those elfin words she uttered in “Lord of the Rings”
