SNOW BUNNY: Chanel is hitting the big screen, big time. "Snowboarder," which opened in theaters in France this week, features actress Juliette Goudot decked out in double-Cs: from her Chanel helmet down to her Chanel skis. While the film’s a bit of a clunker, the ingenue Goudot — often described as a cross between Virginie Ledoyen and Natalie Portman — is pegged as one to watch. But that’s not all. Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld also has dressed Glenn Close and Naomi Watts for James Ivory’s upcoming "Le Divorce," Chanel ambassador Anna Mouglalis for "La Vie Nouvelle" and is dressing Nathalie Baye for an upcoming movie.
WHO’S OUT AT GQ, PART 2: Pity Maximillian Potter. He was the one assigned to carry out the magazine’s hit on Time Inc. editorial director John Huey last summer, and now he’s gone. A GQ spokeswoman confirmed that Potter, a senior staff writer, and John Brodie, a senior writer, have left the magazine, the second and third staffers to go since Jim Nelson’s appointment as editor two weeks ago.
VINTAGE RENZO: Diesel fans can fuel up on another product from the Italian maker: wine, specifically, Rosso di Rosso or Bianco di Rosso. Diesel owner Renzo Rosso is putting his Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines on the market. Produced by Diesel Farm, which the entrepreneur bought in 1994 and restructured, the first, limited-edition bottles, featuring a 1999 vintage for the red or white, will be available this month. A son of farmers, Rosso is going back to his roots also and is producing olive oil. "I love to spend time with family and friends, have a hearty meal and chat over a glass of good wine," says Rosso. The Madera glass bottles will be manually numbered. Diesel Farm is in Marostica, on the hills close to Vicenza and Molvena, home of the denim and sportswear firm.
EARRINGS AND HOT BOD NOT INCLUDED: The Oscar de la Renta gown Diane Lane wore to the Academy Awards was such a hit with retailers it’s being added to the line. The dress — a combination of two runway looks from de la Renta’s fall collection — will retail for $9,000. Several merchants have called about it, including Neiman Marcus, which plans to put it in six stores.

The party, which took place in LA, also marked the opening of their pop-up shop. “I was interested in creating a collection that wasn’t in any way disposable. It was about pieces you’d create and keep forever, things that have a permanence to it,” designer Erdem Moralioglu said. #wwdeye (📷: Katie Jones)
Renee Zellweger in yellow in 2001 and again in 2017. Chosen as one of the 12 @pantone Leading Spring Colors (and dubbed “Meadowlark”), it only makes sense that the bright hue stands the test of time and is making a resurgence this season, seen already on stars like @blakelively and @gigihadid. As one of the most recognizable models in the world, Christy Turlington Burns has an insider’s view of the fashion industry and the allegations of sexual harassment swirling around it. “I can say that harassment and mistreatment have always been widely known and tolerated in the industry. The industry is surrounded by predators who thrive on the constant rejection and loneliness so many of us have experiences at some point in our careers,” Turlington told WWD, along with her suggestions for how the modeling world should protect younger women and men. 24-year-old Jean Prounis is redefining the rules of jewelry. Formerly a studio assistant to Jemima Kirke and a design apprentice at Ghuran, she focuses on handcrafted subtleties and ancient goldsmithing techniques. “There was a really sterile feel in the environment and I wanted to have jewelry with character that shapes how you wear it everyday,” Prounis said. Each piece is hand made in New York, either by Prounis or three other jewelers in the district. #wwdfashion
