SPARKLE PLENTY: De Beers is putting its 203-carat Millennium Star diamond on display today from noon to 3 p.m. to celebrate the official opening of its Bond Street store. It’s the first time the diamond will be shown in London after thieves tried to steal it from the Millennium Dome in 2000. The stone — the largest perfect pear-shaped diamond known to exist — is set in a platinum necklace with more than 2,000 pavé-set diamonds.
PRADA’S PIT: Miuccia Prada, a longtime sponsor of the arts, is taking her patronage to the next level. In celebration of the opening of La Scala’s opera and ballet season on Saturday, Prada has created a series of outfits for the 119-member orchestra. The looks include a long, Empire-waist, black silk dress and a fitted black jacket that can be worn with either straight pants or a simple, subtly pleated skirt. Of course, this is Prada and the look wouldn’t be complete without shoes — in this case, a delicate, low-vamped pair in black silk. Men in the orchestra pit will also sport Prada and have two suits to chose from, including a wool-stretch number paired with a white button-front shirt and a Bordeaux silk tie. Prada, a member of the La Scala Foundation since 1998, said the collection was "another way to explore the parallels between aesthetics and creativity."
BRIT LIT: "Brideshead Revisited," Evelyn Waugh’s novel about two friends in the hedonistic days of 1920s Oxford University, is about to be made into a film. The London-based production company Ecosse Films said the film is in the early stages of development. The prolific Andrew Davies — who wrote "Bridget Jones’ Diary" — is expected to be the screenwriter. In the 1980s, Brideshead was turned into a TV series starring Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews, and was the most successful British TV program of the decade.

For the holidays, @Burberry partnered with 20-year-old artist @blondeymccoy on a series of three outdoor murals in downtown Manhattan. The murals are McCoy’s interpretation of a Christmas eve party, the idea of charity and the spirit of family. His third mural, pictured here, is the most personal. The image depicts McCoy’s grandparents and father in London’s Trafalgar Square in the Seventies. “My work often features lots of sentimental objects.” #wwdeye
