TWO FOR TEE: If there were an award for international fashion collaborations, Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons would be a shoo-in. Hot on the heels of new co-branding ventures with Peggy Moffitt, keeper of Rudi Gernreich’s archive, and hip sportswear firm Fred Perry — not to mention her ongoing joint label with Vivienne Westwood in Japan — comes word in Paris that a collaboration with Azzedine Alaïa is brewing. Alaïa is vacationing in Tunisia and could not be reached for comment. But sources said he had an idea for T-shirts and knew just whom to call.

CAPTAIN JOHN: A Sean John retail fleet? There’s a strong chance that the first Sean John store will open on Fifth Avenue after all. There have been on-and-off negotiations for a 3,800-square-foot site on the southeast corner of Fifth and 41st Street, but sources said Wednesday that a lease is close to being fully executed, possibly before the end of the week. The sources also said that P. Diddy, designer of the Sean John collection, is already eyeing other sites in top malls nationwide. If the Fifth Avenue lease is signed soon, the store could open in the spring.

TENNIS ANYONE?: Charity events can surely forge strange bedfellows. Come Friday, in a tennis match worthy of MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch, it will be game, set and match for Amazon.com chief executive Jeff Bezos and Anna Kournikova. The unlikely pair will play a tennis match at Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall. The duo has joined up not for just a friendly game, but to launch a Multiway sports bra designed by Shock Absorber, which will be available only on Amazon.com from Aug. 22 through Sept. 19. Amazon will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from every bra purchased to the Harlem Junior Tennis Club.
