Marc Jacobs was inspired by vintage travel posters for his cruise collection for Louis Vuitton. The clothes, while classic and slightly preppy, also had a Seventies mood shown in scarf-neck blouses, A-line skirts and prim knits with detachable charms. But variety was key, and the Vuitton wardrobe included suits, safari jackets and trenchcoats for strolling the deck, and a new capsule collection of evening looks. The Anna Sui collection had a Forties dimension in the form of dramatically draped dresses, tailored pieces with dressmaker details and turban headbands. As always, there were frocks featuring print collages, too, some in engineered circle or scarf patterns. Miuccia Prada looked to the innocence of the Fifties this season, taking a sneak peak into the boudoir of her Miu Miu girl. The outcome: delicate, feminine looks with an air of lingerie. For evening, Prada offered sweet, full-skirted retro dresses, all in the softest shades of pink, blue and peach.
