DIAMOND GIRL: In a city inundated with billboards, Harry Winston has staked out some territory of its own. The jeweler has mounted its first billboard on the corner of Beverly and Robertson Boulevards in Beverly Hills. Designed as a cinematic filmstrip, the billboard features Carolyn Murphy in a diamond necklace sitting on a director’s chair emblazoned with the Harry Winston name. “It’s perfectly located,” said Rocco Laspata, partner in Laspata/Decaro, Harry Winston’s ad agency, who shot the image. “It’s right around the corner from the Ivy and away from the clutter of Sunset Boulevard.”

The billboard is tied in with Daily Variety, which will feature the image as the coverwrap of its Oscar nomination issue on Wednesday.
“This is the 75th diamond anniversary of the Oscars and we are hoping that the billboard will be a symbolic kickoff to the Oscar race,” said Carolyn Brodie Gelles, global director of communications at Harry Winston.
