NEW YORK — Coach president and executive creative director Reed Krakoff's East 70th Street town house went up in flames on Friday.

The house was in the midst of renovations, and no one was hurt. The fire marshal is conducting an investigation for arson, according to a spokesman for the New York City Fire Department. Nothing further could be learned on Sunday.

The fire started at 2:36 a.m., and it took the fire department nearly three hours to put out. East 70th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues was closed off for investigations on Friday.

The fire destroyed three floors of the five-story building. Windows were blown out, and the roof partially collapsed. According to sources, Krakoff was planning on moving into the house with his wife, Delphine, and the couple's two children. Krakoff now resides in a town house several blocks south.

A spokeswoman for Krakoff at Coach declined to comment.
