WWD: You showed a few Miller Girl looks during New York Fashion Week. Why keep the full collection for Los Angeles?

Miller Girl came from being in L.A. I have an L.A. door, and I always wanted to do clothes that were more casual, sportier, trendier. So it made sense to formally launch it here. I showed everything here.

WWD: Why create Miller Girl?

A lot of my core collection is occasion-weighted, instead of everyday clothes, and I felt I needed to expand. This is expected to do about $5 million in the first year, and really has the potential to do much more.

WWD: How did showing in L.A. differ from showing in New York?

It’s much more relaxed here. Everyone just had such a great attitude. I was truly happy with the models, too.

WWD: Is showing in L.A. a one-time stunt?

No, we’re already planning to come back in April. We’re going to keep Miller Girl for L.A.

WWD: Do you think anyone will confuse your new brand for Miller beer and its promotional army of Miller Girls?
