Karl Lagerfeld is showing a softer side at Fendi for resort. He has moved beyond last season's sculptural stance, embracing a gentler, more subdued Seventies look instead.
Resort is in full swing, with many looks featuring defined waists. At Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld interpreted the Seventies with a light hand, offering his own clean, streamlined vision of them. Embellishments were limited to a color-blocked print here and a belt there. Damiano Biella, the creative director of Escada, was also thinking of the Me Decade, showing flirty, slinky dresses, double-breasted jackets and haberdashery pants. Meanwhile, romance was in the air at Elie Tahari as the designer played with an array of florals for resort in such looks as pencil skirts paired with tops.
