NEW YORK — Samuel Swirsky, former executive vice president at Bali Intimate Apparel, died Friday at New York University Medical Center. He was 80 years old.

He died after a lengthy illness, according to his wife, Palma.

Swirsky began his career in the Fifties with Formfit, a Chicago intimate apparel manufacturer, as a sales representative covering California, Nevada and Utah. He later joined Bali in a sales position, and was promoted to national sales manager and vice president of sales before becoming executive vice president. Swirsky left Bali in the early Eighties, but remained active in the closeout business.

In addition to his wife, Swirsky is survived by two stepdaughters, Connie Day and Carol DeGennaro, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
