NEW YORK -- Services for Fred Broodno, 70, a former apparel executive, were held Thursday in Philadelphia. He died last Tuesday of cancer at his home in Philadelphia.
In 1950, Broodno founded and was president of Carousel Sportswear Inc., a women's junior sportswear manufacturer in Philadelphia. He operated the business until 1987, when he closed the firm and joined the Deb Shops, a Philadelphia retailer, as director of the manufacturing department.
Surviving are his wife, Seena; a daughter, Iris Goodman, and two granddaughters, Erica and Stacy Goodman.
