MILAN — Frette is eyeing a young, modern customer with a line called "Living" that’s launching for spring.
"This is a functional and practical collection with a more contemporary edge than Frette," said Paola Del Curto, chief executive officer. The luxury linens and loungewear brand belongs to Fin.part, which owns Cerruti, Andrea Pfister and luxury brand Maska, among others.
Frette Living comprises sheets, terry towels, coverlets and table sets, which for spring include a sea-inspired range of azure, blue and white and a group in earthy tones. There are also micro-prints, bicolor patterns and jacquards in Egyptian cottons, and linen items in gray and beige tweeds and herringbone.
The line will be distributed in Frette stores and in-store shops globally. In the U.S., Frette has stores in Beverly Hills, Chicago, San Francisco and Aspen. In New York, besides its own store, the line is available at ABC Carpet, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Bergdorf Goodman.
Fin.part is expanding Frette’s retail network. The company opened a store in Moscow last month and plans to open one in Beirut, Lebanon in January. Last month, it opened a corner in Madrid. Del Curto said she plans to open stores in Marbella, Barcelona and St. Petersburg next year.
Del Curto declined to comment on reports that Opera, the Bulgari-backed investment fund, is in talks to buy Frette.

This season, novelty is back in a way reminiscent of early Aughts, with studs, lace-ups, racing waxed denim and more.
