Dubai-based designer Furne One channeled both the Harajuku girl and Marie Antoinette in his outré collection of tulle and lace gowns, coupled with dramatic obi belts, ruffled collars and white knee socks. While One’s attempt to merge traditional Japanese geisha with lavish French monarch was sometimes lacking, this was an entertaining show with several showstopping pieces, namely the lavish capelike number done in layers of white floral embroideries and origami folds.
