LONDON — Garrard plans to open ground-floor boutiques at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge and the soon-to-be-opened Harvey Nichols Manchester unit in the fall, the company said in a statement Tuesday.
The departments — 432 square feet in London and 540 square feet in Manchester — will sell Garrard’s diamond, silver, gift and accessories collections.
The company also confirmed it would open a Garrard shopping suite on the 7th floor of 720 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan this summer, as first reported in these columns. That unit, across the street from a new Asprey unit, will sell its jewels by appointment only.
Additionally, the company said, Garrard’s sister brand, Asprey, unveiled a line of handbags and a line of watches. The 167 Bag Collection, named for the company’s new Bond Street address in London, was inspired by the company’s archives from the Thirties and features leather, alligator, deerskin and canvas.
The Asprey No. 8 Watch Collection includes handmade timepieces for men and women with circular faces fashioned from stainless steel, yellow or white gold, as well as leather and alligator straps in a wide variety of colors. The name of the collection derives from the watches’ eight-day-long winding systems.
