The organization’s trademark event, the Fresh Faces In Fashion show, which highlights about 12 designers of accessories, women’s and men’s wear, will now take place during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Center, 311 West 34th Street. It will then hold editions on Oct. 30 during Los Angeles Fashion Week and on Nov. 13 in Chicago. In March 2004, the event also will take place in Miami.
For the past three years, Fresh Faces In Fashion has normally taken place after the European shows ended, but the organization said it wanted to focus more attention on the show by bringing it back during fashion week.
The Gen Art show that ran during fashion week for the past three years focused on three designers who were Gen Art alumni. That event will now take place once a year during New York Fashion Week in February.
In addition to announcing the schedule changes, Gen Art also released its talent pool for the September event.
Accessories firms include glove line Agent Anonym, designed by Laura Shepherd and Rick Collinge; London-based leather handbag line Erva, designed by Spain natives Rosa Rial and Eva García; footwear line Kristen Lee, and jewelry line Thorn. The women’s wear lines include Alistair Carr, Annelore, Gayle met Glenn, Lars Andersson, Lauren Felton and Tom Scott. Men’s wear includes Duckie Brown and Romain Kapadia.
Fresh Faces In Fashion is being sponsored by Féria, Acura, Ecru New York, Florida Grapefruit Juice, Heineken and Nikon. Gen Art also is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year with a retrospective fashion exhibition and bash on Nov. 19.
