NEW YORK — If you’re feeling nostalgic for the days of flower children, Escada Sport’s got you covered for spring. There are plenty of groovy patchwork suedes done up as coats, fringed vests and skirts or bell-bottom jeans. And even if you can’t get to the beaches in Goa, you can still look the part of a Seventies-style beach-bound hippie in earthy floral-appliquéd bikinis, shimmering maillots or tie-dyed chiffon caftans. And when the sun goes down, try a terrific short leather jacket. But it wasn’t all just about sandier shores. There were country club-type sundresses and preppy golf and tennis looks.
At Escada, mixed influences — Mod, Formula One races, Miami Beach — make for a brightly colored season. And colors, this time in bold striped dresses, sleek motorbike jackets and punchy bikinis, is what Escada does best.
