NEW YORK — Graziano de Boni, president and chief executive officer of Marzotto USA, will assume the additional role of president and ceo of Valentino USA, effective Sept. 1.

This represents the first major personnel move Marzotto SpA has made since completing its acquisition of Valentino SpA on May 31.

De Boni succeeds Georges Wichner, who is leaving the company. Wichner had been president and ceo of Valentino USA since October 1999, prior to which, he spent seven years as president of Thierry Mugler.

"I had a three-year run, and it was very exciting," Wichner told WWD. "The brand is very hot. It’s a great organization and it’s a new ownership, and this is typical of this kind of situation." Wichner said he intends to stay in the industry and will make his plans known at a later date.

A 14-year veteran of the Marzotto Group, de Boni has been president and ceo of Marzotto USA for the past three-and-a-half years. Earlier, he was with Hugo Boss, a division of Marzotto, for six years, rising to executive vice president. Before that, he served as head of finance at Marzotto in the U.S.

De Boni continues to be based in New York and will divide his time between the Marzotto and Valentino offices here. He reports to Michele Norsa, managing director and ceo of Valentino SpA and president and ceo of Marzotto Apparel.
