One of Berlin’s leading proponents of clean, pared-down styling, Hien Le kept things simple with silhouettes inspired by athletic basics, for men and women. A summer shift took its cue from the T-shirt, while Le gave jogging pants, baseball jackets, and summer parkas an urban spin with materials such as high sheen cottons, supple silks, and synthetic fabrics that resembled suede. The designer riffed on his signature white shirt with a narrow and tucked placket, adding cabana versions for men and simple, collarless styles for both genders. His less-is-more approach looked strongest, however, in the form of coral and tomato silk dresses and separates, and in a flared tank top with side slits. An asymmetrical back slit on an elastic-waist, blouson dress was the sort of subtle detail his devotees adore, but one that others may not notice.
