Tommy Hilfiger is feting his fifth book — "Iconic America: A Roller-Coaster Ride Through Eye-Popping Panorama of American Pop Culture," cowritten by George Lois — during New York Fashion Week.
The designer is hosting an event at the Museum of Modern Art on the evening of Sept. 5, complete with performances from Blondie's Debbie Harry, with bandmates Chris Stein and Paul Carbonara. The book will be released Nov. 6.
Inspired by Lois' visual style and Hilfiger's penchant for Americana, "Iconic America" uses more than 400 images, from Mickey Mouse to Muhammad Ali, "Dr. Strangelove" to the Oscar, juxtaposing the images on its pages.
In addition to the edition that will sell in bookstores for $60, select Tommy Hilfiger stores will offer a version with an exclusive cover. Hilfiger also is selling a capsule collection of T-shirts for $52 and sweatshirts for $75 to $100, which feature overlays of pop culture and Americana images that are in the book.
For each book and capsule collection top sold at Hilfiger stores, the designer will donate $5 to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. The Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation is also making a grant to UNICEF, and the party benefits the organization.
Hilfiger's fashion show will follow the event by a week on Sept. 12 at noon.

It’s really a show that celebrates that and the paisley design of India and its origin,” said Veronica Etro. #wwdfashion #mfw #ss18 (📷: @delphineachard)
