WWD wanted to know, “Where are you spending the holidays?” Somewhere fabulous, we assumed — and we were right. The Alps, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Marrakech and Patagonia are among the planned destinations of the designers, celebrities and models we caught up with.

Mark Badgley and James Mischka: “The Adirondacks and Palm Beach.”

Michael Kors: “Traveling all throughout Southeast Asia. It’s the perfect combination of sun, escape and calm.”

Christian Louboutin: “Baja California, Mexico.”

Donna Karan: “My home in Parrot Cay with my family.”

Reem Acra: “Beirut. I have no plans except to spend the holidays relaxing. December is a busy month. I will be making many trips: Baku, London, Dubai and back to Lebanon.”

Lela Rose: “I’m spending the holiday at our family’s ranch in Wyoming. It’s a great place to cozy up and enjoy some time outside of the city.”

Roberto Cavalli: “Dubai, one of the greatest cities in the world today. I have a Cavalli Club there, which is one of the best places in Dubai.”

Lenny Kravitz: “I’ve been invited to Gstaad, and I’ve never been there. In fact, I’ve never skied.”

Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo: “Home, to see my family in Hong Kong. My youngest daughter will meet my granny, the eldest member of the family, for the first time.”

Adam Lippes: “Punta del Este — I have never been, and I am excited. A friend gave me her incredible beach house in San Ignacio for a week. Then, I’m off to a wedding in Patagonia, followed by New Year’s Eve near the Perito Moreno Glacier…and then a few days in Buenos Aires — a city I love.”

Dennis Basso: “My husband, Michael, and I give our traditional Italian Christmas Eve dinner — the Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes with about 30 people…close family and friends. The next day, we leave for Aspen, where we do a fashion show for the Aspen Art Museum and stay for the holidays.”

Cynthia Rowley: “Surf and sun in Tobago with a bunch of friends and family.”

Anna Sui: “My mother’s house in Detroit is on a lake and beautiful year-round. I have many fond memories of spending holidays there. It’s fun because all the kids are back from school; we catch up and share memories.”

Sally LaPointe: “Marblehead, Massachusetts, with my boyfriend Sam and our little black dog. Our house is about having no rules, so waking up and having a cocktail with a piece of cake for breakfast is totally acceptable and definitely encouraged.”

Isabel Marant: “We are an athletic little family — we are going to Val Thorens to ski.”

Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren: “Skiing with friends and family. Home with friends and family.”

Giambattista Valli: “I have to decide between Marrakech and Lisbon.”

Marisa Berenson: “Marrakech, in the house with my mother, my daughter, my friends, my man and my dog — a family Christmas and New Year’s. Very intimate.”

Alessandro Sartori, Berluti: “I will go to Italy and do some cross-country skiing in Courmayeur: mountains, friends and outdoors.”

Brooke Garber Neidich, Sidney Garber: “This year, we are in St. Barth. My daughter will be with us with her beau and my sons with their wives and some of their friends. Everyone is relaxed — we read and swim, eat Maya’s delicious food and drink rosé…pretty perfect!”

Jennifer Fisher, Jennifer Fisher Jewelry: “I am going to Miami with my family for ‘non-Basel’ R&R, where I actually get to wear a bathing suit and eat tons of stone crabs on the beach holding rosé or a Bloody all day long.”

Caroline de Maigret: “I am going to Patagonia. A friend of mine is getting married there, and we’re doing a road trip after.”

Massimo Giorgetti, MSGM: “I will go back home to my hometown, Rimini, and I will spend Christmas with my family, enjoying the charming and unique atmosphere of the sea in winter. For New Year’s Eve, I’m going skiing. I like snow and winter sports.”

J.W. Anderson: “Back to Ireland, to spend time with my parents.”

Mara Hoffman: “We just booked our trip to Marrakech. I’m so excited as it’s been a source of inspiration for me from afar. I’m sure I’ll come back with enough rugs, blankets and textiles to open my own souk.”

Mary Katrantzou: “Back home, to Athens. It’ll be the last break we have before the pre-fall and fall 2015 launches, so I’ll try to make the most of it!”

Stella Jean: “I’m going to Forte dei Marmi, home of my husband’s family. I’m in love with the sea in winter.”

Alice Temperley: “Remote Somerset and the Hollywood Hills in L.A.”

Massimo Nicosia, Pringle of Scotland: “My final destination this Christmas will be Sicily.”

Adam Brown, Orlebar Brown: “I am going to the beautiful Caribbean island of Canouan. It is tiny, but about half an hour by boat to Mustique, so you get the best of all worlds: Peace and quiet most of the time, but when you want a bit of a party, it is never far away.”

Rory O’Hanlon, Smythson: “I will be going home to Ireland for Christmas and spending it with my family. My family’s home is deep in the countryside, and it is a beautiful and inspiring place.”

Ileana Makri: “This holiday season I am opening my new shop in Athens! Thus, I will stay home with family and friends for Christmas. However, I will be in Marrakech for New Year’s and then Istanbul for a couple of days, to celebrate a friend’s wedding.”

Henry Holland, Holland House: “I will be heading up north for the holidays to Cumbria, to my boyfriend’s family home, and then I have a wedding on New Year’s Eve!”

Lambert Wilson: “I’m going to my house in Bordeaux, which is on a river. It’s an 18th-century mill.”

Inès de la Fressange: “A traditional Christmas in the French Alps, in Megève.”
