LOS ANGELES — Hurley International has named Roger Wyett president and CEO of the surf apparel giant, company officials announced Tuesday.

Wyett, 51, is the former vice-president of global apparel for Nike, which bought Hurley in 2002. Wyett previously served as president and COO for Hurley from 2005 to 2006. He has also worked for Puma and the Walt Disney Co.

Former Hurley president and CEO Bob Hurley will serve as chairman for the company and will continue to be involved with day-to-day operations, he said.

“It is going to be so exciting to work with Roger again, both personally and professionally, because we naturally compliment each other,” Hurley said. “With Roger as our CEO and president, I will be actively focusing efforts around the brand, product and Hurley community. Roger will be responsible for executing our brand vision and expanding our business.”

Jill Stanton, Nike’s vice-president for U.S. apparel, will replace Wyett as global apparel vice-president for the parent company.
