PRIMA DONNA: Donna Karan will receive an early Christmas gift this year. On Dec. 2, she will be awarded the first Liz Tilberis Humanitarian Award at the Legends Gala, hosted by L’Oréal and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and held at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The other honoree is Ann Moore, president and ceo of Time Inc., who will receive the 2002 OCRF Legends Award for her contributions to the charity, which Tilberis presided over until her death in 1999. Paula Zahn will host, along with special guest Andie MacDowell. Among those expected to watch Karan take the stage are Sting and Trudie Styler, Rita Wilson, Patti LaBelle and Milla Jovovich.

BARNEYS’ BAUBLES: Barneys New York has commissioned artists and celebrities to create holiday ornaments for the RxArt Ball, which will take place Tuesday at the Barneys Co-op on Wooster Street. The 100-plus ornaments, which were designed by Ahn Duong, Yoko Ono, Sarah Jessica Parker and Stephen Sprouse, among others, are on display at the Co-op and will be auctioned off at the ball.

H&M HITS LONG ISLAND: H&M will open a store in the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, N.Y., on Dec. 13. The new, 15,500-square-foot store on Old Country Road will bring the number of H&M stores in the U.S. to 46. As part of the opening, H&M will give a new H&M T-shirt to the first 100 shoppers in line who take off their shirts for charity. Donations of sweaters and other warm clothing will also be accepted to help those in need through The United Way of Long Island.
