THE CELLULOID GUCCI: The Gucci brand is already a household name among Hollywood's red-carpet set. But talk is percolating that the fabled house might be the subject of a film. According to an Italian press report, director Ridley Scott's next movie is a take on Patrizia Reggiani's 1995 murder of her husband, Maurizio Gucci, with Demi Moore in the leading role. Gucci Group declined to comment.DEPARTING AUTHENTIC FITNESS: Two key executives--designer merchandise manager Wendy Manasse and designer division president of sales Susan Matza--have resigned from Authentic Fitness. Manasse was based in Los Angeles and Matza worked in New York. Manasse's post will be filled, but Matza's accounts have been redistributed to other salespeople, an Authentic Fitness spokeswoman said, and that post will not be filled. Manasse and Matza could not be reached for comment. Kathy Van Ness, who joined the company in January as president of its designer swim division, oversees merchandising and sales for all divisions. Authentic Fitness produces Speedo, Catalina, Cole of California, Ann Cole, Ralph Lauren, Hot Coles and Sunset Beach swimwear.DESIGNS ON GENNY: Francisco Rosas is the new design director for the Genny brand, WWD has learned. The first collection designed by Rosas will bow for spring-summer 2003. Rosas was previously creative director at Byblos and, prior to that, head of men's design at Valentino and director of men's production at Hermes. Byblos and Genny were bought by Prada Group last July. In April, Prada sold the Byblos label to Swinger International.
