BON-TON PICKS TOP EXECUTIVES: The Bon-Ton Stores named Anthony J. Buccina vice chairman and president of merchandising, reporting to Byron L. Bergren, president and chief executive officer. Buccina was president and chief merchandising officer of Carson's from 1999 until Bon-Ton's acquisition of Carson's in March. Buccina joined Carson's in 1993 as senior vice president and general merchandise manager. In 1997, he became executive vice president of merchandise. Bon-Ton also named David Zant vice chairman overseeing private brands, merchandise planning and Internet marketing, reporting to Bergren. He was vice chairman and chief merchandising officer. In addition, James H. Baireuther, vice chairman and chief administrative officer, is leaving Bon-Ton on June 13.
WINNERS' CIRCLE: The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum has selected winners of its annual design awards. Maria Cornejo has been singled out for Fashion Design and Nike won the Corporate Achievement award. Other winners include architect Paolo Soleri for Lifetime Achievement; the Museum of Modern Art's Paola Antonelli for Design Mind; Thom Mayne, Architecture Design; 2x4 founders Michael Rock, Susan Sellers and Georgianna Stout, Communications Design; Michael Gabellini, Interior Design; Martha Schwartz, Landscape Design; Bill Stumpf, Product Design; Miami-based real estate developer Craig Robins, Design Patron, and illustrator and conceptual designer Syd Mead, Special Jury Commendation. First Lady Laura Bush is the honorary patron for the awards and Richard Meier is chairing the gala, to be held Oct. 18 at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York.
QUEST NAMES FOUR: Fragrance supplier Quest International has made four executive appointments affecting its fine fragrance centers in New York and Paris. In the U.S., Matt Frost, who was vice president of marketing for fine fragrances in North America, has been promoted to vice president of global fine fragrance marketing, a new position. He reports to Paul Austin, Quest's vice president of global fine fragrance. Additionally, Isabel Ryan, who was director of fine fragrance development, has been named vice president of fine fragrance development for North America, also reporting to Austin. In France, Frederic Walter has been named creative director of global fine fragrances, a new post in which he reports to Frost. Also, Isabelle Fulconis has been named marketing director of fine fragrances for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a new position. She reports to Christian Dussoullier, vice president of fine fragrances for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

For the holidays, @Burberry partnered with 20-year-old artist @blondeymccoy on a series of three outdoor murals in downtown Manhattan. The murals are McCoy’s interpretation of a Christmas eve party, the idea of charity and the spirit of family. His third mural, pictured here, is the most personal. In a partnership between the @metopera and the @englishnationalopera, “Marnie” was born. The opera, with costumes sponsored by @mrporterlive, is an adaptation of the 1961 thriller by Winston Graham. Arianne Phillips, who created the costumes, is no rookie: She’s styled Madonna for her tours and created costumes for a myriad of films in the past.
