DONE DEALS: Aris Industries Inc. said Thursday that it completed its sale of the XOXO, Lola and Fragile trademarks, along with certain related assets and goodwill, to Global Brand Holdings LLC, for $43 million in cash, a deal first announced in May. Shareholders approved the sale to the New York investment firm at a special meeting held on June 30. With the consummation of the transaction, Global’s licensing of the XOXO label for sportswear, dresses and intimate apparel to St. Louis-based Kellwood Co. clears its final hurdle, as well. Aris, which will use the proceeds to pay down debt, retains the Baby Phat apparel, Members Only sportswear, La Pepita and Kosiuko trademarks.
COACH’S PHILADELPHIA STORY: Coach has signed a lease for a 2,700-square-foot store at 1703 Walnut Street in downtown Philadelphia, according to Madison HGCD, a retail brokerage firm that represented Coach in the deal. The store is expected to open in the fall, possibly November. Coach is taking over the former Net women’s apparel store and will be located in one of the hipper retail sections of Philadelphia, near Kiehl’s, Arden B., Diesel, Waterworks, Tiffany and Burberry, and several restaurants and clubs.
