In this role, he will coordinate strategy for all LVMH brands in Germany, and will also develop Christian Dior Couture. J.C. Penney is flying the 42 finalists of its Modelo Mundial-World Model 2003 Hispanic model search to Miami for the final round of the contest Saturday night at the Radisson Biscayne Bay Hotel. They were chosen from over 2,000 applicants and represent 23 multicultural markets in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico. The winners, male and female, will receive scholarships of up to $10,000, an appearance on Univision and modeling opportunities. The pageant will be hosted by Karla Martinez of the teen-focused Univision program “Control.” “The event provides an opportunity for these young men and women to springboard to future successes and for the public at large to learn more about a population that now represents the largest and fastest-growing minority group in the nation,” said Vanessa Castagna, chairman and ceo of J.C. Penney stores, Internet and catalog. Contestants must be of Hispanic descent, between 16 and 21, have a “B” average in high school or an institution of higher learning, and have not modeled professionally.
