MARCHESA'S NEW VP: Marchesa has hired Aida Khoursheed as vice president of sales and operations, handling the global wholesale business for the main Marchesa collection and the diffusion Notte line. Khoursheed was most recently Alexander McQueen's vice president of wholesale, Americas, and managed department and specialty accounts for the designer. Before that, she was director of sales at Moschino. She is based in New York and reports to Marchesa executive vice president Ed Chapman.
BRITT TO URBAN: Urban Brands appointed Anita D. Britt senior vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining the specialty retailer, Britt was executive vice president of finance for Jones Apparel Group Inc., serving there for 12 years. Earlier in her career Britt spent time at Coopers and Lybrand, and she is a certified public accountant. "We are excited to have someone of Anita's experience and caliber join the veteran team of retailers we have running the company," said Ethan Shapiro, president and chief executive officer of Urban Brands. "Over the next five years, as the company expands its store base, enhances existing stores and flows trend-right fashion to our customer, Anita will be a key addition to our world-class retail team."
ZALE'S NEW CFO: Zale Corp. said on Monday that Rodney Carter was named group senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective Oct. 16. Carter, who resigned as senior vice president and cfo of Petco Animal Supplies Inc., will report to Betsy Burton, president and chief executive officer. Carter previously worked at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., including serving as cfo of J.C. Penney Credit. Separately, Zale said it was informed by the Securities and Exchange Commission that the SEC probe was terminated, with no enforcement action being recommended. The jewelry retailer disclosed in April that the SEC was conducting an investigation.
