MOVADO BOOSTS ITS BOARD: Movado Group Inc. has appointed Richard Isserman to its board and its audit committee. Isserman will join eight other members on the board, and will become its sixth independent member. Isserman has worked for some 40 years at international public accounting firm KPMG LLP. He currently serves as chairman of the corporate compliance committee and is a member of the audit committee for the Federation Employment and Guidance Services, a social service agency in Manhattan. He also is a member of the finance committee for New York’s Jewish Museum. Movado Group Inc. designs, manufactures and distributes Movado, Ebel, Concord, ESQ, Coach, Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss watches worldwide, and operates Movado boutiques and company factory outlet stores in the U.S.
SAKS DONATION: Saks Department Store Group will donate at least three million minutes of phone call time to U.S. military personnel overseas and in domestic military hospitals through its “Let Freedom Ring” campaign, which began raising funds for the calls in May and continues through July 4. The retailer will donate one phone call home for every $25 shoppers charge to their store credit cards. Phone time became available to military personnel on June 18. HSBC Retail Services, issuer of SDSG’s private label credit cards, and MCI are coordinating the program with Saks.
