MOVING ON UP: Vera Wang has promoted Paul Ngai to vice president of apparel production. Ngai was previously the company’s director of production and has been credited with forming sourcing relationships in Asia, as well as enabling improved margins and building an in-house production infrastructure. His area of responsibility covers the company’s ready-to-wear and Lavender Label divisions, and he will report to Susan Sokol, president of Vera Wang apparel.
NEW ROLES AT MARCHON: Eyewear manufacturer Marchon has announced new roles for Pierre Bessez and Mark Ginsberg as senior vice presidents of designer brands. Ginsberg, a Marchon employee since 2002, will manage a global portfolio of U.S.-based brands, including Coach, Michael Kors, Nautica and Sean John. He will also manage the company’s design center in Manhattan. With experience in the international and domestic marketplace, as well as in eyewear merchandising, production and operations, Bessez will head Marchon’s international portfolio, including Calvin Klein, ck Calvin Klein, Fendi and Pucci. Both Bessez and Ginsberg will report to Al Berg, president and chief executive officer.
