NEW HIRE: Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. on Tuesday appointed Wendy E. Burden to the position of chief operating officer, effective Nov. 8. Burden will report to Seth Johnson, the specialty chain’s chief executive officer. Her responsibilities include store operations, real estate and store construction, information systems and the company’s distribution center. Burden spent the last six years with Victoria’s Secret Stores, a division of Limited Brands Inc., first as executive vice president of operations and administration and most recently as vice president of business strategy and operations. Prior to joining Limited Brands, she spent 18 years at PepsiCo Inc.
SEARS CONNECTION: Sears, Roebuck is in talks to sell products from French Connection, the London-based fashion wholesaler and retailer. “We are talking with them. I can’t provide any more details than that,” said Sears spokeswoman Lee Antonio. Sears could be negotiating to sell one or more of French Connection’s collections, including French Connection, which accounts for 85 percent of the firm’s revenues. Other labels owned by French Connection and targeting different markets are Nicole Farhi, Toast and Great Plains. Products sell in department and specialty stores and at French Connection stores around the world.
