NICOLE’S NEW JEANS: Nicole Miller has licensed the rights to produce women’ denim under its brand to Pacific Alliance, a company headed by chairman and chief executive officer Haim Dabah. The design house has also licensed Pacific to produce a children’s collection. The jeans are to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of this year, with children’s to follow early next year.
WET EXIT: Another Wet Seal Inc. executive has left the company. The Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based specialty retailer said Tuesday that Joseph Deckop, who joined Wet Seal in August 2003, has resigned as executive vice president of central planning and allocation to pursue other interests. After former chief executive officer Peter D. Whitford resigned from Wet Seal last November, Deckop was interim ceo before current ceo Joel Waller started on Feb. 1. “I am grateful for the contributions Joe has made to The Wet Seal Inc. during a very tough period of our business,” Waller said in a statement.
BERGDORF’S NEW HIRE: Ginny Hershey, vice president and divisional merchandise manager of couture at Neiman Marcus, has been named as senior vice president and general merchandise manager at Bergdorf Goodman, effective March 28. Hershey joined Neiman’s in 1988 in the executive development program and was placed as an assistant footwear buyer. She was promoted in 1990 to couture shoes buyer and in 1992 she was named buyer for couture. Hershey was promoted to her current position in 1997. She will report to Jim Gold, president and chief executive officer of Bergdorf Goodman.
