OLSENS HIT THE U.K.: Now tweens in the U.K. can tap into Mary-Kate and Ashley’s style. The Olsen twins’ Mary-kateandashley accessories line is set to make its debut at Claire’s Stores in the U.K. in July, concurrent with the line’s launch at Claire’s in the U.S. The collection of belts, bags and jewelry, designed exclusively for the costume jewelry and accessories retailer, will be sold at 65 Claire’s Stores across the U.K. The accessories will retail alongside the twins’ cosmetics line, which launched in partnership with Claire’s in the U.S. in February. Prices will range from $5.60 for a mascara to $22.50 for a handbag. “For millions of tween girls nationwide, Claire’s is a preferred shopping destination,” said Diane Reichenberger, chief executive officer of Dualstar Entertainment Group, the Olsens’ company. “We are very happy with the Claire’s Stores relationship in the U.S. and look forward to a successful partnership in the U.K.”

WORLD CUP T-SHIRTS: Steve & Barry’s, the apparel chain, has entered into a licensing agreement with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, in time for soccer’s biggest event, the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany, which takes place Friday through July 9. Steve & Barry’s has produced a variety of 2006 FIFA World Cup licensed T-shirts for women, men and children. The licensed collection features graphic T-shirts emblazoned with the logos of participating countries, including the U.S., Mexico, Italy, Germany, France and defending FIFA World Cup champion Brazil. The FIFA World Cup T-shirts are priced at $9.98 and are being sold in Steve & Barry’s stores across the country.

SALLY NAMES PRESIDENT: Sally Beauty Co. has tapped Michael G. Spinozzi as president, a new position, to oversee the 2,100-unit Sally Beauty Supply retail chain in the U.S. and Canada. The former executive vice president and chief product officer for Borders will oversee U.S. and Canada store operations, merchandising, purchasing, advertising, customer service, customer relationship marketing and loyalty programs. Spinozzi will report to Gary Winterhalter, president of Denton, Tex.-based Sally Beauty Co. and Beauty Systems Group, a $2 billion group consisting of Sally Beauty Supply stores, BSG professional-only beauty stores, a distributorship and sales representatives. The need for Spinozzi’s position emerges as the role of Michael Renzulli, chairman, Sally Beauty Co., in day-to-day business decreases.
