PAKISTAN'S PROPOSED PACKAGE: President Bush proposed a $3 billion economic aid package for Pakistan Tuesday in exchange for its help in the U.S.-led war on terrorism, but there was no mention of textile and apparel trade concessions still sought after by Pakistan. In a meeting with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf at Camp David, Bush also pledged to sign a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement, which could pave the way for a bilateral free-trade pact.

CASH ADVANCE: The Young Menswear Association will award High School of Fashion Industries senior Joseph Llano a $2,500 scholarship grant at its commencement exercises today. Llana is the first high school recipient of a YMA scholarship, which was previously reserved for students in college. The organization will now offer the scholarship to one HSFI student each year. The YMA originated in 1937 as the Young Men’s Apparel Association of the Men’s Apparel Industry and has given about $2.5 million to 275 students at colleges, including the Fashion Institute of Technology, North Carolina State University at Raleigh, Parsons School of Design, Philadelphia University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Pratt Institute and Cornell University.
