WARNACO EXITS: The Warnaco Group on Tuesday emerged intact from its tour of bankruptcy court proceedings, 603 days after initiating them on June 11, 2001. The company makes intimate apparel, sportswear and activewear under the Warner, Olga, Calvin Klein, Chaps by Ralph Lauren and Speedo brand names, among others. Warnaco said it expects to begin trading on the Nasdaq today. The company also said it closed on a $275 million exit financing facility. The initial draw on the facility was $39 million.
IRELAND’S NEW BABY: Models and celebs are all over accessories these days, and now Kathy Ireland is stepping into the ring. The former model, who has an active apparel line at Kmart, is starting a jewelry collection produced in collaboration with Martin Gruber. It will include diamonds and gold necklaces, earrings and bracelets, with prices ranging from $99 to $10,000. Ireland said she is involved in designing the pieces. The Kathy Ireland Fine Jewelry by Gruber collection will bow at the JCK Show in Las Vegas in May, in time for holiday selling. Distribution is aimed at midtier department stores and fine jewelers. While this line isn’t aimed at the Kmart crowd, Ireland said she is sticking with the bankrupt mass merchant. "I hope [Kmart is] able to pull through, and I am going forward with my line," she said.
SAG HARBOR’S NEW PREZ: John Henderson has been named president of Sag Harbor, a division of Kellwood Co. Henderson, a 31-year retail and apparel veteran, joined Kellwood in 1992 and most recently held the post of executive vice president for Sag Harbor. From 1995 to 2000, Henderson was Kellwood corporate vice president of merchandising. Prior to joining Kellwood, he was senior vice president and general merchandise manager for Famous Barr. Based in New York, Henderson will report to Marty Brody, chief executive officer of Sag Harbor. The president position has been vacant since Harvey Solomon retired in May 2001.

The image depicts McCoy’s grandparents and father in London’s Trafalgar Square in the Seventies. “My work often features lots of sentimental objects.” #wwdeye
