LIZ’S NEW EYES: Liz Claiborne Inc. has signed an eyewear licensing agreement with Safilo Group. The collection will launch next spring and include 16 women’s styles. The collection, called Liz Claiborne Optics, will include metal and plastic offerings and will be sold at retailers nationwide. Additional eyewear collections under various company brands — including Claiborne, Crazy Horse, First Issue and Villager — are expected to follow as part of the licensing agreement. The launch collection will retail around $100 to $160. The company’s sunglasses business will continue through a sublicense with Outlook Eyewear.

BIGGER IS BETTER: Mostly Plusses.com has launched an e-commerce site devoted to serving the plus-sized market. “Full-figured women are looking for an alternative to the inconvenience and frustration of shopping at their local bricks and mortar store,” said Kim Cooke, founder and president. “Every woman deserves the opportunity to dress in style — regardless of her size — and at a price she can afford.” The new clothing venture features substantial discounts, 30 to 70 percent off the suggested retail price, on the merchandise it sells.
