LIZ’S NEW EYES: Liz Claiborne Inc. has signed an eyewear licensing agreement with Safilo Group. The collection will launch next spring and include 16 women’s styles. The collection, called Liz Claiborne Optics, will include metal and plastic offerings and will be sold at retailers nationwide. Additional eyewear collections under various company brands — including Claiborne, Crazy Horse, First Issue and Villager — are expected to follow as part of the licensing agreement. The launch collection will retail around $100 to $160. The company’s sunglasses business will continue through a sublicense with Outlook Eyewear.
