KELLWOOD NAMES ENC HEAD: Kellwood Co. has promoted Penny Aschkenasy to president of its ENC division, which includes the David Meister, Sangria and Studio Ease brands.
In this newly created post, Aschkenasy reports to Arthur K. Gordon, chief executive officer of Kellwood Western Region, based in City of Industry, Calif. Before joining ENC in 1996, Aschkenasy was executive vice president and national sales manager of Laundry by Shelli Segal for more than six years. Prior to that, she led Tomboy of California as head of sales and merchandising for 18 years.
"Penny has been, and continues to be, an outstanding asset to ENC," Gordon said. "She has the product development, sales and marketing expertise to expand and develop new programs for our company. During her tenure, she has successfully developed young designers and their collections, including, for example, David Meister, and his day and eveningwear business."
FREE SEX BOOK: Kenneth Cole New York is offering customers who purchase outerwear and shoes at its stores an added perk: a free copy of Sarah Jessica Parker’s debut novel "Sex and the City ... Kiss and Tell," (Simon & Schuster, $40). While Parker is doing all the promotions for the book and wrote the introduction, the book’s entirety was actually written by Amy Sohn.
In order to receive a free copy, customers must purchase any women’s KCNY outerwear piece or shoes for more than $200 at a Kenneth Cole store — while supplies last.
