NEW AT HAMPSHIRE: Jeff Meier last month joined Hampshire Group Ltd. as vice president of global sourcing, a new post.

Meier was most recently vice president of sales for Golden Horse, a Shanghai-based apparel company. Before that, he was executive vice president of global sourcing at Tommy Hilfiger.

Meanwhile, Hampshire Group Ltd.’s premier label, Designers Originals, is trying to up its fashion ante for fall with styles that are “a little more upscale for the modern customer,” said Olga Yurechko, vice president of design. Basic silhouettes have been updated with bows, rhinestones, ribbons and fake fur trims. Founded in 1956, Designers Originals typically offers sweaters in 25 to 40 colors each season.

The brand has introduced a 12-piece group of pastel-colored sweaters inspired by “Sex and the City.” Wholesale prices range from $11.50 to $14.50.
