The next generation with famous fashion lineage is coming onto the scene—some are already in the game, while others are just starting to flirt. Here, four new faces you’re likely to see again.
NAME: Daisy de Villeneuve AGE: 32 FASHION PEDIGREE: Her father, Justin de Villeneuve, was the iconic Sixties photographer who discovered and promoted Twiggy. Her mother, Jan Ward, a fashion model, was regularly featured in Vogue and has worked with Mario Testino and David Bailey. CURRENT POST: London-based de Villeneuve is an illustrator, collaborating with Topshop on products such as bags, mugs, shoe boxes, stationery and underwear. Her other clients include Moët & Chandon and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. “I’m not in the fashion world, but I dip into it,” she says, adding that her aesthetic is “colorful, childlike, naïve…but in a good way.” REASON FOR WORKING IN FASHION: “I liked the idea of making my own clothes,” says de Villeneuve, who studied fashion design briefly at Parsons School of Design in New York, before switching to a fine arts degree. PERSONAL STYLE: “I don’t like these fashion designers who make things you can’t wear. I don’t have money to burn on designer clothing, although I appreciate it. I like to be individual, not follow the trends.” INDUSTRY IDOL: Zac Posen. “He’s a friend of mine, and I knew him before he became famous. It’s been great just to see him go from being at Central Saint Martins to what he is now. I went to his show for the first time recently and saw Martha Stewart and Puff Daddy in the front row. It was amazing.” FASHION WEAKNESS: “I love classic clothes.”
NAME: Anne-Christine Polet AGE: 22 FASHION PEDIGREE: The daughter of Gucci Group honcho Robert Polet finagled a standing ticket for the Bottega Veneta show in Milan and ended up sitting pretty—in a Topshop dress—right next to dad. CURRENT POST: Just started a two-year program for a master’s degree in international management at Bocconi University in Milan. FASHION FUTURE: “To be honest, I am still in the process of deciding what I want to do,” she says. “I would like to work in consumer goods, working with brands. Fields like marketing, advertising, product development and innovation interest me greatly.” TESTING THE WATERS: Besides shopping and devouring fashion magazines, Polet recently did a two-month internship at Vogue China in Shanghai, including assisting the fashion editor on a weeklong shoot of upcoming “Shanghai-nese” designers. FATHER FIGURE: “I really look up to him and consider him a very inspirational person,” she says. “One of the things he has taught me is the value of working well with people, respecting other cultures, values and opinions when working in teams.” ON FASHION A LA MILANESE: “Women—and men—are always impeccably dressed, with their hair nicely done, nice shoes, bags and, of course, sunglasses!” PERSONAL STYLE: “I am an absolute H&M addict (and Zara, Topshop, etc.…) and am always looking for new ways to combine these clothes with, for example, vintage shoes and bags,” she says. “I am a strong believer in big bags—the bigger the better—and big earrings.” LEADER OR FOLLOWER?: “I get a lot of inspiration from fashion magazines, but I would never blindly follow trends.”
NAME: Daisy Lowe AGE: 18 FASHION PEDIGREE: Daughter of British fashion designer and model Pearl Lowe and Gavin Rossdale, lead singer of the British rock band Bush. She is the stepdaughter of Danny Goffey, drummer for Supergrass and technically the stepdaughter of Gwen Stefani, although the two have never spoken. CURRENT POST: Lowe is signed to Select Model Management and has fronted campaigns for H&M, Roberto Cavalli, Thomas Burberry and Dr. Martens. LONDON FASHION WEEK: Lowe modeled at one catwalk show—Felder Felder—this season. “Hips and boobs aren’t accepted at London Fashion Week,” she says. “I like my food and I like my curves. I’m not going to stop eating.” REASON FOR WORKING IN FASHION: As a teenager, Lowe’s mother insisted she get a Saturday job for pocket money. She started off as a sales assistant at Agent Provocateur during her vacation periods, but after being spotted by Select while shopping in London’s Camden Market, she signed with the agency in May 2004. “I was always interested in fashion. I wasn’t stylish at all, though. My mum tried to help, but I was a disaster!” she says, adding of her early modeling days: “It was hard, that whole game of accepting rejection on a daily basis. As a 16-year-old, it was hard also being made up in a way I didn’t like, not in a way I saw as beautiful. I grew out of that, though.” INDUSTRY IDOL: Vivienne Westwood. “She’s my icon. I like that she doesn’t give a shit what people think. She’s really political and she’s got balls. She’s amazing.” FASHION WEAKNESS: What else? “Vivienne Westwood,” laughs Lowe. “I did it today—went into the store and got a jacket, coat and two T-shirts. I hadn’t even planned to go in, and then spent all my money. I am so bad.”
NAME: Delfina Delettrez Fendi AGE: 20 FASHION PEDIGREE: A Fendi family scion, daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi, the accessories designer for the fabled Roman brand, and French jeweler Bernard Delettrez. CURRENT POST: Designs her own line of jewelry featuring brightly colored skulls or animals with precious stones, pearls, bone or wood. REASON FOR WORKING IN FASHION: Despite trying to make her way outside of the business (never mind the three internships at Chanel), she finally concluded fashion is the best forum for self-expression. INDUSTRY IDOL: Her mother. Observing since she was a child, Delettrez Fendi learned how to find inspiration, meet outside expectations and satisfy market trends. Her mother and grandmother’s jewelry collections offered helpful hints for mixing traditional and modern elements. She gained technical know-how from her father, who helped her take her first steps in the jewelry world. FAMILY CONNECTIONS: Her logo resembles a half moon and five stars forming the letter D—originally designed in the Seventies by Karl Lagerfeld. FRIEND CONNECTIONS: She is buddies with controversial actress Asia Argento, who directed a mini film in which Delettrez Fendi’s jewels appear. MOTHERHOOD: Her daughter, Emma, was born in August and has deeply influenced Delettrez Fendi’s designs. Maternity has given her a chance to reflect on the contrast between life and death—a theme that surfaces in her jewels. FUTURE PROJECTS: She plans to open her first atelier in the heart of Rome in the next few months.

“Stranger Things” is getting a new cast member for season 2. Meet @sadiesink_, the 15-year-old who will be joining the Netflix series for its new season. You may recognize her from “The Glass Castle” with Brie Larson and Woody Harrelson, but the Texas native’s next role goes in an entirely different direction. Amid the Harvey Weinstein controversy, there’s another sector that’s being put under the spotlight for sexual abuse: the modeling industry. While rumors about abuse and sexual harassment of female and male models — and the photographers, agents and others who perpetrated it — have circulated within the fashion world for years, model @cameronrussell started posting stories from models on Instagram last week about abusive situations they’ve encountered — from sexual harassment and molestation to attempted rape. In his new book “Hollywood Royale,” Andy Warhol’s Protégé Matthew Rolston celebrates the Eighties revival of Hollywood glamour. Featuring more than 100 portraits taken by Rolston from 1977 to 1993, the book contains photos of icons like Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, and @drewbarrymore, pictured here in 1991. “Hollywood Royale,” out today, will be accompanied by an exhibition opening at Los Angeles’ Fahey/Klein Gallery on March 1. #wwdeye
