LIZ AND JOCKEY SPLIT: Liz Claiborne Inc. and Jockey International Inc. have ended their licensing relationship, under which Jockey has been marketing and producing women’s foundations for the Liz Claiborne label since spring 2000.

Final product shipments will occur in spring 2003.

Barbara Friedman, president of licensing at Claiborne, said the firm is “evaluating alternative opportunities for the Liz Claiborne intimates business.”

Ed Emma, president of Kenosha, Wis.-based Jockey, said: “We are proud of what we were able to accomplish for this product line. The release of this collection will allow Jockey to focus on our corporate resources and expertise in our own brands.”

Many of the Jockey employees in the Liz Claiborne merchandising and sales positions will be integrated into the Jockey structure.
