FISHER DOES NATORI: Alan Fisher has joined the Natori Black Label division of Dana-Co, producer of the Natori-owned foundations label, as a consultant.

Fisher, a 35-year veteran of the intimate apparel industry, retired last month as vice president of merchandising of the Wacoal America division of Wacoal Japan. He joined Wacoal in 1994. Earlier, Fisher held merchandising posts at Kellwood Co. and Formfit Rogers.

THONGS TO GO: Hanky Panky, a daywear, underwear and sleepwear specialist, will be introducing a Thongs To Go self-service display unit this week. Created of clear plexiglass, the compact unit can occupy an 8-inch square of counter space and can house three dozen pairs of Hanky Panky’s signature stretch thongs.

“I wanted the customer to have a fun experience with our product…with a bunch of festive colors to choose from,” said Gale Epstein, the brand’s designer, noting that the display unit will most likely create impulse buys and multiple purchases.

The one-size-fits-all thong is available in a classic style and a new low-rise silhouette.
