UJA AWARDS: Two executives will receive an award from the Intimate Apparel Division of UJA-Federation of New York: Lucy Cindric, senior vice president of women’s apparel, accessories and intimate apparel at Wal-Mart Stores, and Art DeCesaro, vice president and general manager of Vassarette at VF Corp.’s Intimate Apparel Coalition.
The cocktail and dinner event will be May 4 at The Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan. A commemorative journal will be published in honor of Cindric and DeCesaro and given to guests, said a UJA spokeswoman.
WARNACO TAPS ALLEN: Don Allen has rejoined The Warnaco Group as vice president of creative design for the Intimate Apparel Core Brands division. He will be responsible for creating new product and leading the design team for the Warner’s, Olga and Body Nancy Ganz brands. A 20-year veteran of the intimates industry, Allen served as Warnaco’s chief designer from 1990 to 2001. He most recently was a designer at Victoria’s Secret.
MAIDENFORM ELECTS EISENBERG: Barbara K. Eisenberg has been elected to the board of Maidenform Inc.
Eisenberg is senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Ann Taylor Stores Corp., and a member of the Ann Taylor Corporate Executive Committee. Before joining Ann Taylor in 2001, she was senior vice president, corporate counsel and general secretary at J. Crew Group for two years.
LEBRON JOINS CONCEPTS: Iris LeBron has been named fashion director at Concepts New York, a new company specializing in trend forecasting for intimate apparel.
Concepts New York is the first U.S. division of French parent Paris Concepts, headed by chief executive officer Jos Berry in Paris. LeBron will be supported by a New York-based design team drawn from Europe and the U.S. and trained by Berry. Services will include the design of complete collections of lingerie, underwear and sleepwear, as well as range-building, fabric sourcing and the creation and repositioning of brands.
LeBron, 15-year veteran of DuPont Textiles & Interiors, was formerly fashion director of intimate apparel, activewear and swimwear at Invista Inc. DTI was renamed Invista when it was acquired by Koch Industries in 2003.
