Inspired by Istanbul’s art nouveau architectural heritage, designers Derya Issever and Cimen Bachri beautifully combined light and linearity in their Issever Bahri collection. They used their trademark crocheted leather techniques in new ways, imbuing them with a delicate airiness in flounced skirts, long tank dresses and T-shirts. Short-sleeved flounce-skirted dresses in wool and open-worked leather were layered over white turtlenecks and tights, these colorless accents creating a fresh look throughout, while loose-knit draped-back pullovers and furry coats added a rounded volume.
Satin, alpaca and silk yarns were also hand-worked into detailed trim on elegantly prim flounce-neck blouses, flowy chiffon skirts and a perfect black pantsuit. Mauve, pale pink and white looks were luminous, while black and dark green brought strength to suiting and feminine, flowing drop-waist dresses.
