NEW YORK -- Joan Montgomery, 42, a publicist and promotion executive at Allure magazine, died Monday at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital here.

The cause of death was breast cancer, according to a spokeswoman at Allure.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Unification Church in Salt Lake City, her hometown.

Montgomery came to New York during the mid-Seventies in order to pursue an acting career. She was a publicist in the fashion industry since 1984 and had been with Allure since last year.

Montgomery is survived by her husband, Larry.
