NEW YORK -- Services for John A. Taylor, 82, a former retail executive, were held Saturday in Winter Haven, Fla. He died Thursday of cancer in the Winter Haven Hospital, according to his wife, Alston Taylor.

Taylor had been vice president at Rheinauer & Co., a chain of women's specialty stores based in Winter Haven, from 1971 until 1981 when he retired. Earlier in his career, Taylor spent 23 years with Maas Bros., where he rose to divisional merchandise manager.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, John D., a daughter, Elizabeth Newton, and two grandchildren.
