NEW YORK -- Services for John Viverito, 42, a textile designer, were held Monday in Elizabeth, N.J.

Viverito died Friday of AIDS at his home in Union, N.J., according to a friend, Janet Garfinkle. Viverito spent about 20 years in the industry, mostly with sportswear manufacturer Bernard Chaus.

He is survived by his mother, Lillian Viverito, and two sisters.
