Since 2003, Subversive Jewelry’s artfully messy necklaces, typically collagelike pilings of chains, gems, beads and pretty much anything else designer Justin Giunta finds appealing, have garnered loyalists including designers, with whom he often collaborates, and customers. Giunta has stayed ahead of the curve with specialty collections (bridal and couture) and innovative design. His latest offer — which helped earn his third consecutive Swarovski nomination — includes colorful pearls, twine, hand-painted crystals, amorphous brass castings and vintage chains, or, in other words, a little bit of everything.
